High School Choir
Hunter Street’s High School Choir is called Chi Alpha (XA).
So What Is Chi Alpha?
Chi Alpha means “Christ First.”
Chi Alpha is “High school students united to share new life in Christ through music and the arts.”
Students in Chi Alpha are held to a level of commitment that reflects their commitment to the Lord, Jesus Christ and to their church family. Each student commits to:
- Take my role and commitment as a Chi Alpha choir member seriously.
- Maintain an active and growing daily relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and Bible study.
- Set an example for other by living a Godly life, always conducting myself in a Christ-like manner and showing the utmost respect for adult leaders and fellow students.
- Make effort to faithfully attend all choir rehearsals, performances, and special events.
- Regularly attend Sunday School and worship services throughout the choir year.
- Support the mission of Chi Alpha by participating, praying, encouraging, and recruiting.
Our yearly ministry events include:
- Singing in adult worship 2-3 times a year
- Engaging in local mission activities in conjunction with the student ministry 3-4 times a year
- Going in a week-long mission tour, sharing the gospel through backyard bible clubs, carnivals, and concerts
Be a part of Chi Alpha
In a day where nothing is as it seems, there is one thing that is real, and that is the God of the universe who calls us to worship Him and desires that we have a relationship with his Son, Jesus Christ.
While the world is full of artificial flavors, online “relationships,” plastic surgery, temporary highs, and people that pretend to be someone else, come be apart of something that’s real.
Bring yourself, a friend, and a heart for worship
- No special talent required
- Everybody sounds good
“…true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” – John 4:23-24.
